TERROIR

AT THE HEART OF THE
CÔTES DU RHÔNE VINEYARDS

Puyméras is nestled at the heart of the Rhône Valley, very close to Mont Ventoux. Our Provencal village offers a delightful landscape full of vines and olive and apricot trees. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of between 300 and 500 metres above sea level, encircled by two small rivers, the Ouvèze and the Aygues. The climate is mild with a strong Mediterranean influence.

All year round, we benefit from the high sunshine levels tempered by the Mistral wind. The nights are cool thanks to the influence of Mont Ventoux.

The soils are mostly ancient, stony terraces, predominantly composed of a mixture of clay and limestone. A rich earth in which juicy and delicious grapes flourish.

The quality of our varietals, the nature of the soil, the generous climate and human expertise allow the grapes to ripen in excellent conditions and thus to give wines of great quality, recognised as one of the best Côtes-du-Rhône wines.

THE WORK OF
SEVERAL GENERATIONS

Thanks to the work of several generations, the winegrowers of Puyméras and the villages of Saint-Romain en Viennois, Mérindol les Oliviers, Mollans sur Ouvèze and Faucon have found the best-adapted varietals for this special terroir: Syrah, Grenache noir, Grenache blanc, Cinsault, Carignan, Viognier, and Roussanne. From one year to the next, modern vinification techniques have allowed our wines to express a strong personality all about finesse, freshness and elegance with an incomparable fruitiness.

We, the winegrowers of Cave La Comtadine, are also committed to producing and promoting organic wines made with grapes grown with respect for this agriculture and for nature.
